Dover Firefighters Race Live Wires To Stop Two‑Home Inferno

A two-alarm fire tore through a pair of manufactured homes on Munson Avenue in Dover yesterday, as Hillsborough County firefighters juggled live wires, propane tanks and fast-moving flames that threatened nearby houses. Crews reported no civilian or firefighter injuries and said they brought the blaze under control in about 50 minutes while investigators stayed on scene to sort out what happened.

In a Facebook update, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said the first units to arrive found two manufactured homes already burning and immediately struck a second alarm to pull in more help. Firefighters checked all surrounding residences and confirmed that no one was inside, even as neighboring homes took a beating from the intense heat. The agency said its Fire Investigations Unit remained at the scene to work on determining what sparked the blaze.

Downed Line And Propane Tanks Raised The Stakes

Crews also had to contend with a downed, energized power line and several propane tanks exposed to heavy heat, conditions that bring serious risks of electrocution and explosions.
