LAKE WALES, Fla. (WFLA) – $21 million in federal tax credits is headed to Polk County to help turn the Grove Manor neighborhood into an affordable housing complex.
The buildings will feature nearly 200 apartments and a community center, as well as other amenities.

“Lake Wales is going to feel a little bit different. I think it’ll be something that the community will be proud of, something that personally, I’ll be proud of myself,” said Al Kirkland, with the Lake Wales Housing Authority.
Construction is already underway and is expected to take about 18 months…
