Ample moisture will help fuel greater rain chances across the Tampa Bay area Sunday afternoon.
After a quiet and humid start to the day, rain will begin to develop by the early afternoon. Showers will then continue to strengthen and develop into scattered storms throughout the mid and late afternoon.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Level 1/5 risk for severe weather for Sunday afternoon. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts as downbursts from some strong storms may be particularly strong today due to dry air aloft.
