BARTOW, Fla. (WFLA) — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is hoping someone has information that will help solve a fatal hit-and-run that killed a Valrico man two years ago.
On May 17, 2023, deputies responded to a scene on County Road 640 after reports of an injured man lying in the roadway.

The victim, later identified as 52-year-old Robert Nichols, said he had pulled over to assist a motorcyclist on the south shoulder when he was struck by a passing vehicle.
He was transported to a nearby hospital with a leg injury and died the following day during surgery, PCSO said.
