Lancaster has little control over where data centers can locate in the city, but that would change under rules expected to be approved in July.
A small industrial zoning district in the northeast corner of the city would be the only area where data centers would be allowed under a proposed zoning ordinance amendment discussed by council at a public hearing Wednesday night and scheduled for final discussion and a vote on July 14.
