YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Two dogs died, and two firefighters were taken to the hospital after a second-alarm house fire in York County on Monday afternoon.
The Newberry Township Fire Department said when crews arrived at the scene, they found a modular home on fire in the 1000 block of Pines Road in Newberry Township. Inside the home, firefighters encountered “heavy fire conditions.”
Soon, the fire was upgraded to a second alarm, bringing in help from Dauphin and Cumberland counties, the fire department said. Firefighters had to combat the heat and other conditions to get the fire under control.
The two firefighters who were taken to WellSpan Newberry Hospital for heat-related injuries were released later in the evening and are recovering at home, the fire department said…
