Central Pennsylvania man sentenced for causing deadly Christmas Day crash

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A central Pennsylvania man will spend between eight and 20 years in prison for causing a deadly Christmas Day crash in 2022, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s office.

David Whisman, 44, already pleaded guilty in January to 10 different offenses that include homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, according to the DA’s office.

Whisman was under the influence of fentanyl and other substances when he crashed head-on into the other vehicle along Lancaster Pike near its intersection with Truce Road in Providence Township on Dec. 25, 2022, the DA’s office said.
