Central Pa. woman found guilty of smothering her 3-month-old

A Lancaster city woman was found guilty this week of smothering her 3-month-old son while in a drug-induced slumber.

Lancaster County Judge Dennis E. Reinaker found Luz Linette Saez, 34, guilty of endangering the welfare of a child and involuntary manslaughter at a bench trial Monday. At a bench trial, a judge instead of a jury decides the verdict.

According to prosecutors, Saez used crack cocaine before falling asleep with her son on Aug. 30, 2024. Saez had not slept for two days leading up to the night of the baby’s death, police said…
