Leaders from Chautauqua communities across the United States traveled by trains, planes, and automobiles to convene in the heart of Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, for the annual Chautauqua Trail gathering. Nestled among the trees of historic Mt. Gretna, participants came together to celebrate a movement that has enriched American life for more than 150 years while exploring the future.
As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, Chautauquas and camp meetings stand as enduring reminders that the strength of the nation has always been rooted in people gathering to learn, worship, exchange ideas, and build community. Mt. Gretna—home to both a historic camp meeting and Chautauqua community—provided an ideal setting for reflection and renewal.
