LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A few days after a series of bridge inspections on Route 222, more work is coming to a different bridge on the roadway in Lancaster County.
PennDOT announced Monday that a bridge over N. Church Street in West Earl Township will be receiving improvements to its expansion dams. As a result, the right lane and shoulder of Route 222’s southbound lane will be closed in the area.

The restrictions are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Friday, lasting until 6 a.m. Monday. The deceleration lane for the Route 772 exit (Brownstown/Rothsville) will be closed as well, though the exit ramp will remain open. The shoulder and deceleration lane will stay closed next week.
The work is part of the same project that had scheduled lane closures last weekend. A 3.3-mile pavement preservation on the highway in West Earl, Manheim, and Warwick will bring “bituminous resurfacing, full-width milling, base repair, concrete patching, guide rail updates, line painting, and sign updates” on both the north and southbound lanes between the Bushong Road overpass and the Pool Road overhead bridge…
