LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A man has been sentenced after the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office says he tried to kill another man over a betting dispute.
The da’s office said Jan Cruz-Rivera, 30, of Lancaster, will spend between six and 15 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure on Sept. 22.
Investigators learned Cruz-Rivera was upset that the victim owed him several hundred dollars after a pool match in a private club near the shooting in the 100 block of Stevens Avenue in Lancaster on Oct. 22, prosecutors said. Cruz-Rivera fired shots at a vehicle the victim was in, striking them…
