A Lancaster County man was sentenced to time already served for illegally storing 14 explosive devices a a Mill Creek Township home, prompting an evacuation of the area last fall.
Lebanon County Court of Common Pleas Judge Bradford Charles handed down the sentence in the case of Timothy Sheaffer Jr., 41, of Columbia, on Wednesday. Sheaffer’s charges included possessing weapons of mass destruction, risking a catastrophe and reckless endangerment.
Charles described the collection of incendiary explosives, pipe bombs and remote detonators as “ominous stuff.” Sheaffer’s possession of these kind of devices was “beyond red flag territory,” the judge said…
