Boil water advisory issued for some York County residents

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A boil water advisory has been issued for some York County residents after a water main break.

The York Water Company announced a boil water advisory for residents on Whiteford Road, north and south of Pleasant Valley Road, in Springettsbury Township, as of 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The company said a loss of pressure due to a water main break may have allowed contaminants into the distribution system. They are sampling the water to determine whether any contaminants are present, but in the meantime, residents should boil the water for 3 to 5 minutes before using it.
