MERIDIAN TWP. — The former Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom that’s sat vacant at the corner of Marsh Road and West Grand River Avenue for two years may be demolished to make way for the construction of a bank.
The township’s Planning Commission approved a special use permit last month that allows for Huntington National Bank to construct a 6,375-square-foot location on the just less than 3-acre property.
The restaurant at 1938 W. Grand River Ave. has been closed, vacant and languishing at the intersection for just over two years. Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom closed in March of 2024. The business operated there for more than two decades…
