‘Progressing rapidly’: Lansing gives update on ModPod housing effort

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The city of Lansing provided an update on the Nova Housing Initiative Thursday, saying work is “progressing rapidly behind the scenes” and its plans are expected to be finalized within the next two weeks.

The city has contracted with consultants, who officials say are currently working on the engineering site plans and architectural design for both the full site and the resource center. Additionally, city staff have been exploring partnerships with nonprofits regarding social services to be provided to future participants in the ModPod program.

The city says construction will be able to start immediately if the city council approves the permit…
