LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – An Ingham County judge has ordered prediction market platform Kalshi to temporarily shut down its operations in Michigan for two weeks, following a decision in the Ingham County Circuit Court.
Nessel sued Kalshi in March, alleging the company violated the state’s sports betting law. The attorney general argues Kalshi offers operations similar to sports betting under the guise of a prediction market, allowing it to evade accountability and operate without licensing approval from the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
