OWOSSO, MI – A 40-year-old father drowned on Thursday while swimming with his young son at a campground in Shiawassee County, according to local authorities.
WILX-TV reported that the man drowned at around 5 p.m. Thursday, July 2, while swimming on Owosso Lake. The campground is located on Krouse Road, and nearby campers reportedly heard calls for help.
Another man entered the lake, and although he attempted to keep both the father and son afloat, only the child, 8, was taken to shore. First responders attempted to save the 40-year-old, who was found unconscious, WILX reported, before he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital…
