LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter took to social media to remind residents about the dangers of abandoning unwanted pets.
This new post responds to comments on previous posts from Monday, asking for the public’s help in identifying the people responsible for abandoning a dog and a cat in two separate incidents.
A cat was abandoned at the Capital Area Humane Society Spay/Neuter Clinic on S. Cedar Street in Lansing shortly after 5 a.m. on Monday. The cat was left in a carrier and found in the Enterprise parking lot next door. That same day, a pitbull mix was found in front of Lansing Christian School. The shelter says the dog was wearing a blue nylon collar and was intentionally left behind.
The shelter says comments such as “at least they were left somewhere safe” do not change the fact that pet abandonment is illegal and the shelter is currently overwhelmed…
