WEBBERVILLE, Mich. (WLNS) — Fuel prices are reaching record highs in Mid-Michigan amid ongoing conflict in Iran and the closure of a critical crude oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia.
According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of gas sits at $4.85 in the Lansing area. That’s up over $1.60 from this time a year ago. Diesel prices are even higher, setting a new record for the region at $6.61 per gallon.
At a gas station in Webberville, the price is above the average, sitting at $6.79 a gallon.
One trucker there told 6 News that it was costing him $1,000 to fill up his tank, a cost known all too well by Brian Hitchcock, owner of MBH Trucking, located just a few miles away from the station…
