Report suggests Mid-Michigan faces aging population, declining young workforce

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) is raising concerns about an aging tri-county population, pointing to a Public Sector Consultants study projecting demographic shifts in Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties over two decades.

LEAP’s findings suggest that over the next 25 years, the Lansing area is on track to gain 30,000 seniors but lose 10,000 young workers and 14,000 K-12 students.
