LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – New parking changes are coming to Lansing after the City Council approved higher parking fines and reduced enforcement hours.
Under the new rules, drivers who receive a parking ticket at a meter and pay it by midnight the same day will face a $25 fine, which is up from $15 if paid within two hours. The penalty increases to $35 if paid within 14 days and rises by an additional $10 every two weeks after that.
City leaders also voted to shorten parking enforcement hours. Parking officers will now issue tickets between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., instead of the previous enforcement window of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m…
