Thousands without power in Mid-Michigan amid severe weather

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Thousands of households across Mid-Michigan are without power amid severe thunderstorm warnings being issued for multiple counties.

As of 8 p.m., Consumers Energy is reporting tens of thousands of outages statewide, with 2,088 outages in Eaton County, 1,777 in Ionia County, 1,554 in Clinton County, 277 in Jackson County and 821 in Hillsdale County.

The Lansing Board of Water and Light is also reporting 1,483 outages as of 8 p.m.., spread across both Lansing and East Lansing and touching parts of Michigan State University campus.
