Declining gas prices giving slight relief to drivers across Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – According to AAA, the average price for regular gas in Las Vegas is around $4.93 on Sunday, down 10 cents from a week prior. It’s part of a broader trend for gas prices declining across the country, entering its third week of decreasing prices nationally.

The steady decline brings the average price for regular gas below the five-dollar mark for Las Vegas drivers.

“It helps tremendously. Especially this truck takes a lot of gas,” said Jose Tobar, who commutes around town a lot due to his job as a plumber. Tobar said the highest he paid for gas was $5.59 a gallon a few weeks ago. “I’ve noticed it’s gone down a couple cents. It’s no longer above 5 in some locations. It’s now looking like some locations before it used to, like 4 dollars 70 cents depending on cash and card.”

Other drivers like Iris Ramos said she did not notice the lower prices, considering gas to be still too high to enjoy driving around. “I don’t even look at it, or I at least check the prices here or there, because I know they’re pretty high,” Ramos said. Tobar said due to lowering prices, he would consider more summer travel. But Ramos said she still plans to put any travel plans on hold. “Gas prices, everything is really high right now. So we’re just putting everything to a pause,” Ramos said…
