Family of hit-and-run victim Ivan Aguilera seeks justice, road improvements after arrest

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A man was killed last month in a hit-and-run while skateboarding in the Centennial Hills area, and his family is now calling for justice and road improvements following the arrest of a suspect.

Metro Police identified the victim as Ivan Aguilera, 29. His body was found on the east shoulder of the roadway near U.S. 95 and Oso Blanca, a few hundred feet from Mountain Ridge Park.

Tip leads to arrest

During the investigation, police said a citizen called in a tip reporting they had seen a Ram pickup parked at Oso Blanca the night before the discovery, with damage to the driver-side headlight and side-view mirror, and a man on his cellphone appearing to be in a panic.

Officers later located a vehicle matching that description covered with a car cover that appeared too small. After obtaining a warrant, investigators found evidence consistent with the tip. Elijah Malone was arrested in connection with the hit-and-run.
