LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Southern Nevada is heading into its hottest stretch of the year, with a forecast high of 110° in Las Vegas today.

A First Alert Weather Day remains in effect as dangerous heat settles across the valley. Afternoon wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph will combine with very dry conditions, increasing fire danger across the region.
The combination of hot afternoons and warm nights will create a Moderate Heat Risk across the Las Vegas Valley, with some areas reaching a Major Heat Risk.
