Extreme heat warning for Las Vegas extended to Sunday

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The National Weather Service’s Extreme Heat Warning for southern Nevada was scheduled to expire at 8 p.m. Friday night, but has now been extended until Sunday.

With highs over the next 8 days not dropping nearly as much as was forecast earlier in the week, it makes sense that the warning was extended. It is now set to expire at 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The area of high pressure responsible for the intense prolonged heat is still meandering east – closer to the Four Corners area, so there will be more stormy-looking clouds building up around the area…
