SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PA(WBRE/WYOU)— The Henderson, Nevada 12-year-old All-Stars are heading to the title game. The Mountain Region champions captured the U.S. crown on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Great Lakes 12-2 in five innings. This will be the second year in a row that a team from Nevada will represent the U.S. in the World Championship Game.
Owen Guzman led the way both at the plate, and on the mound for the Mountain squad. Guzman went 3-for-3 with a triple, and an RBI for Henderson. He also tossed 3.2 innings, starting the game and striking out two in the outing. Nevada catcher Maddox Bryan also had multiple hits on Saturday. Maddox finished the day 2-for-3 with 3 RBI.
Henderson will take on the team out of Willemsted, Curacao for in the championship game. Curacao were winners in the international final 4-0 over Tokyo, Japan. The shutout win is the third for the team from Curacao in four games at the Little League World Series…
