Nevada gas prices hit record highs for Labor Day weekend

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Nevada drivers are paying an average of $4.91 a gallon this Labor Day weekend, according to AAA. That is up 10 cents from last week.

National average also increases

The national average price is $4.14 a gallon, up 4 cents from a week ago.

The current Labor Day record was set September 3, 2012, at $3.82 a gallon.

Gas prices typically drop around this time of year as demand decreases. AAA says higher crude oil costs are helping keep prices elevated this year.
