LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — James Beard Award-winning Chef Kwame Onwuachi has been presented with the key to the Las Vegas Strip by Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom.
On Thursday, Sept. 17, the New York City native was presented with the key during a special presentation at Maroon at Sahara Las Vegas.
The ceremonial honor recognized his contributions to Las Vegas’ culinary landscape following the opening of Maroon, his Afro-Caribbean steakhouse at Sahara Las Vegas, earlier this year. Segerblom joined the James Beard award winner outside the restaurant for the presentation, celebrating the chef’s growing impact on the city and culinary scene.
