LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The popular Government Wash area at Lake Mead will reopen for tent and RV camping on Oct. 15, park officials announced on Wednesday.
Lake Mead National Recreation Area Superintendent Ed Clark said the gravel launch ramp will not reopen due to low water levels.
The campground, which had been the focus of a major cleanup and restoration project, had reopened on Feb. 7, 2026, but closed again as summer heat arrived.
