New video captures chaos after fatal Las Vegas Arts District shooting

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Days after a triple shooting at a First Friday event in the Art District claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy, 8 News Now has obtained new surveillance video that sheds more light on the chaos that unfolded.

The video was recorded from a camera outside a tattoo parlor near the corner of Main Street and Charleston Boulevard. In the video, the sound of gunshots can be heard. The video also shows crowds of people running in different directions.

Some of the people were seen running inside the tattoo parlor and taking cover.

“Everybody ran in here and dropped to the floor and everybody was trying to hide. It was really scary. I’m still shaking,” said a Tattoo artist who witnessed the chaos and wanted to remain anonymous.

8 News Now learned the fight that escalated to gun violence started directly across the street in front of the star Las Vegas boutique. Jimi Mastronardi and his wife own the boutique. He says he and his wife were returning to the store when they heard the gunfire erupting.
