Ernest Bavarsad, an astronomy professor at the College of Southern Nevada who also teaches science at a local high school, is in critical condition after a suspected hit-and-run along Tropicana Avenue Wednesday morning.
According to the family, Ernest was struck while on his morning jog and a random passerby called 9-1-1. He was transported to University Medical Center (UMC), where he underwent surgery Friday morning to stop a brain bleed. Ernest is recovering, but is in a lot of pain.
The only evidence recovered at the scene was a mirror from the vehicle. The family believes it was a dark-colored truck and is asking anyone who may have seen the accident, or who may have video, to contact police…
