Nonprofit raises funds to support those with intellectual and developmental disabilities

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in six children ages 3 to 17 in the United States has at least one intellectual or developmental disability (IDD).

On May 16, DeKalb County-based nonprofit InCommunity hosted its 2026 “Limitless” Gala for community leaders, advocates, donors, and supporters. The annual event raised more than $380,000 to fund programs and services for people with IDDs across Georgia.

The Department of Health and Human Services defines IDDs as “differences that are usually present at birth and that uniquely affect a person’s physical, intellectual, and/or emotional development.”…
