Nebraska’s 4th commit from Peach State powerhouse builds incredible Georgia pipeline

Nebraska now has not one, not two, not three, but four commitments from Grayson High in Loganville, Georgia. Joey Hunter became the fourth commit from the powerhouse Peach State high school to give his pledge to announce his pledge to the Huskers on Sunday morning. Hunter is also the second player to commit today from Grayson, joining 3-star linebacker Eli Harris, who was a bit of a surprise commitment from the weekend.

Olafemi “Joey” Hunter, like Harris, didn’t have a long relationship with the Huskers before he visited this weekend. The 3-star tight end picked up an offer from the Huskers just a few weeks ago, and his official visit was his first ever trip to Lincoln. It’s a safe bet that the weekend certainly felt like he was “home,” considering Harris, as well as Grayson teammates Jordan Agbanoma and KD Jones, were in town as well. Agbanoma and Jones are both recent NU commits who were in Lincoln for official visits and to peer recruit their teammates.

The peer recruiting and the budding pipeline into Georgia was all it took for Nebraska to land the 6-foot-6, 255lb junior. According to Rivals’ Tim Verghese, tight ends coach Marcus Satterfield was key to Hunter’s recruitment in the last month, alongside that strong push from high school buddies…
