Almost a year later, mother of slain officer humbled by CDC renaming road in his honor

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Saturday marks one year since the deadly CDC shooting on Clifton Road, where Dekalb County Police Officer David Rose was killed in the line of duty.

Currently, a makeshift memorial still stands at the CDC entrance. On Friday, a new plaque will be put in place and a portion of the road will officially be renamed in his honor.

His mother, Deveane Atkinson Burnett, said she is humbled by this and that she still misses him every day…
