The Georgia Department of Transportation started its first online real estate surplus auction platform on Saturday. Around 200 property parcels are up for sale. This new system replaces in-person auctions and lets buyers from across the state and beyond bid on state-owned land.
The current inventory includes parcels that span from 0.05 to 17 acres. Available sites include development opportunities, wetland-mitigated tracts, and irregular remnant plots.
Three auctions opened on August 1. GEP-135-250 in Gwinnett County sits on the west side of SR20 between Henry Bailey Road and Cumming Highway. Five combined parcels in Hall County, numbered GEP-139-100 through GEP-139-117, are located on the west side of U.S. 129 between Barrett Road and Squires Road.
