Jessamine County still cleaning up after multiple rounds of heavy rain

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) – Jessamine County is continuing cleanup efforts following multiple rounds of heavy rainfall, with officials now waiting to learn whether the county qualifies for federal disaster relief.

Chris Shelley, the Chief Deputy Director for Jessamine County Emergency Management, said the county is still in the recovery process.

“We had heavy rains that we got close to 7.04 inches of rain in the county. And last week, we had a nice little four and a half inch rain up in the northeast part, I think southeast Fayette got some of that as well,” Shelley said.
