LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — With the new school year just around the corner, the Lexington Police Department hosted its Police Activities League (PAL) Saturday.
Hundreds of kids and families gathered July 25 at Douglass Park for the annual event. Officers connected with the children with food, games, and more. They also gave out hundreds of backpacks to the community.

Sgt. Donald Horton with the police department’s service unit said that for the last four decades, the event was about bridging the gap between kids and police through fun and mentorship.
