Fans Did Their Part But Stein Knows Team Did Not

Will Stein pleaded with Kentucky fans to be loud and rowdy Saturday when the Cats hosted Alabama at Kroger Field. He urged fans to arrive early and even “joked” about sneaking flasks of spirits into the game.

Kentucky fans listened. The Cat Walk produced a huge crowd almost two hours before kickoff. The stadium was full long before country music icon Wynonna Judd sang the national anthem.

The game could not have started any better when defensive lineman Mi’Quise Humphrey-Grace deflected a pass, caught the ball at the 1-yard line and scored. Kentucky still had a 17-13 lead at halftime before wilting and losing 45-17…
