The new OBC Kitchen is set to open in Lexington’s Turner Commons. See the inside

OBC Kitchen, the bourbon-themed concept from Bluegrass Hospitality Group, is opening in a brand-new space in The Commons, and the Herald-Leader got a sneak peek at the new restaurant.

It’s opening the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 6, in a larger space that manages to maintain the cozy and intimate feel of the current OBC Kitchen bar. That space will become a private dining space, available for parties and events.

The new OBC Kitchen, which is in The Commons development off Leestown Road, has a larger bar and dining room with a fireplace. It also has a second dining area that can be closed off for private dining. There’s a wall of glass garage-style doors that can open in warm weather. They face a patio with outside seating that will have a fire pit and heaters for chilly weather.

What’s on OBC Kitchen’s menu?

OBC Kitchen, which stands for Old Bourbon County, is known for its extensive bourbon and craft beer collection as well as hand-crafted cocktails. It opened next to the Drake’s and Malone’s in the Lansdowne Shopping Center in 2014. The gastropub has an eclectic menu that includes the signature Bacon in a Glass, Warm Buttermilk Donuts and Shrimp & Grits, as well as steaks and more.

The OBC Kitchen menu will remain the same for now, and the bourbon selection will be as expansive. Bourbon will be everywhere, including in ornate lighted “lockers” at the entrance, where customers will be able to buy OBC’s various private barrel selections…
