One arrested in connection to attempted ATM robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A group of suspects are facing charges for an attempted ATM robbery, with one already in police custody.

Lexington police responded to an attempted ATM theft March 14 in the early hours of the morning. When they arrived, they say they found a vehicle nearby with heavy duty chains attached. Police say the ATM had been ripped from its concrete base, laying in the drive-through lane and significantly damaged.

The vehicle police found was later reported to be stolen and valued at more than $10000, while the ATM damage repair costs were estimated to be $70000-$75000. The suspects fled in a separate vehicle: an SUV rented from Houston, Texas.

According to officials, camera footage showed the SUV in various places in Kentucky, with Glasgow footage showing the suspects entering a Lowe’s with their faces and clothing clearly visible…
