Convicted Lexington cop killer refuses court appearance for stabbing, robbery charges

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A suspect accused of stabbing a victim in Lexington, as well as robbing a Speedway gas station on April 2, who was convicted of killing a Lexington police officer using a car in 2010, has refused a preliminary hearing set for Tuesday morning.

According to FOX 56 crew members in the courtroom at 8:30 a.m. on April 14, Glen Doneghy, 49, refused to appear in Fayette County District Court for a preliminary hearing.

Doneghy was arrested on April 7 in connection with a March 11 stabbing that happened at the 700 block of North Broadway, as well as an alleged gas station robbery in the same area.

Records indicate that a victim was leaving the Speedway just before 8:15 a.m. on April 2 when Doneghy allegedly followed them. When confronted, he was accused of threatening to throw a coffee cup in the victim’s face…
