Pushback continues after in-patient mental health clinic in Lexington neighborhood gets approval

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — It has been a hot topic in one Lexington neighborhood: whether to welcome a mental health facility.

Neighbors in Chevy Chase said the area is usually quiet and family-friendly, yet, earlier this week, that peace was replaced by passionate debate inside council chambers, leading to a 4-2 vote by Lexington’s Board of Adjustment, approving the permit.

“It seemed that they just—the board of adjustment was just not listening to the concerns of the neighbors,” Jessica Winters, of The Winters Law Group LLC, who represented Friends of Chevy Chase, a collective of about 20 property owners, said.
