DANVILLE, Ky. (KT) — It is a “new day” for the former First Baptist Church in Danville, now Ashland Danville through an adoption replant partnership with Ashland Avenue Baptist in Lexington. While the church is new, the past has not been set aside. The legacy of FBC Danville, founded in 1823, remains deeply woven into the identity of Ashland Danville.
A new chapter is underway, reflecting the strength of the adoption model that has proven effective for Ashland Avenue. Pastor Todd Martin emphasized that the process came after an over 80 percent vote of approval from FBC Danville members, asking Ashland Avenue to assume leadership and provide support with the goal of returning the church to autonomy. That commitment remains central, he said.
