LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -The Parks and Recreation Department announced that eight City pools opened as scheduled on Wednesday. Arnold Heights Pool, 4000 NW. 46th St., remains closed due to mechanical issues.
Lincoln Parks and Recreation officials say six pools closed Monday because of large crowds leading to filtration systems that couldn’t keep up. Officials say capacity crowds on opening day paired with a lot of sunscreen caused pumps to fall behind. They cite safety concerns as the main reason pools were ultimately closed.
