Patriotic Displays Planned as Fireworks Sales Surge

Fireworks stands across Lancaster County are seeing strong early sales as residents prepare to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary. Craig Hamre, marketing manager with Kracklin’ Kirk’s Fireworks, says the first day of sales at locations in Denton and Hickman was busy, with customers stocking up for the Fourth of July.

Hamre says popular purchases include value-priced assorted cakes, including a deal offering 10 cakes for 250 dollars. He says customers are also looking for larger, single-piece finale fireworks. This year’s celebration is bringing new America 250-themed fireworks to the shelves.

“That is a multi-shot cake where you set it on the ground, light the fuse and get back and then you get 220 shots up into the sky of all red, white and blue effects,” Hamre says. “It just lights up the sky.” The company is also selling an America series featuring four 500-gram cakes named after iconic locations, the Statue of Liberty, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore…
