Fourth of July Fireworks Allowed at Three Lancaster County Lakes

Fireworks will be allowed at three Nebraska state recreation areas on the Fourth of July, including one in Lancaster County. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says visitors may set off fireworks from 8 a.m. until midnight on July 4 at designated locations only.

Spokesman Greg Wagner tells KLIN News at Branched Oak State Recreation Area, fireworks will be permitted from Lieber’s Point on the west side of the lake. Designated sites also include the Area 1 beach at Pawnee State Recreation Area and the beach at Wagon Train State Recreation Area.

“You can pull up your chairs and watch individuals touch off legal Nebraska fireworks at these locations.” Wagner says signs will direct visitors to the approved launch areas, and fireworks are prohibited everywhere else in state parks and recreation areas…
