Florida prosecutors drop battery charges against Nebraska running back Mekhi Nelson

LINCOLN – The state of Florida dropped charges Tuesday evening against Nebraska running back Mekhi Nelson after the alleged victim in the case declined to pursue charges and filed a discontinuance of prosecution.

According to Monroe County court records, an assistant prosecutor with the state of Florida filed a memorandum of no action. Nelson had been charged with felony aggravated battery of a pregnant woman.
