Quiet, comfortable weekend ahead for Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – After a windy Friday, Nebraska is in for a quiet and comfortable weekend with plenty of sunshine and temperatures that will feel refreshing for early August.

A high-pressure system is building into the region, which will gradually calm the breezy conditions from Friday. While north and northwest gusts between 20 and 30 mph are still possible overnight into Saturday — particularly in eastern Nebraska — conditions will continue to improve throughout the night. Drier air is also moving into the state from the north, bringing relief from the recent humid conditions.

Clear skies will move in Friday evening and persist through the weekend. Expect sunny to mainly sunny conditions across the state Saturday and Sunday.
