LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Sweltering heat and scattered storm chances will be featured in the forecast through the upcoming work week as a warm, moist air mass settles over the region.
Weak showers and storms may bubble late tonight into early Monday morning as the moist, unstable air mass remains in place.
A weak cold front drifting in from the northeast could spark additional storm development, though widespread severe weather is not expected.
Any storms that do develop could produce strong wind gusts, but the threat remains isolated.
What to Expect Monday and Beyond
The upper ridge responsible for this weekend’s heat will shift eastward Monday, but temperatures will remain well above average.
Especially across southeast Nebraska, anticipate hot temperatures in the low to mid 90s while the rest of the state is somewhat cooler.
